In the future, South Downtown Atlanta is a place that is easy to find, a place that leaves a long-lasting impression on residents, business owners, and visitors. Like most lively Downtown neighborhoods, South DOwntown provides a range of housing types as well as new and historic places for work or entertainment. It emerges as a leader for all of Atlanta, demonstrating fun, appealing, and diverse city living for everyone. The design proposal for a medium-scaled community center addresses the challenges of creating architecture for the public, in the public realm, where design is not just a personal privilege, but an opportunity to create a public good.
